About Us

The Mount Vernon Amateur Radio Club (MVARC) is comprised of about 150 hams from the Northern Virginia/Washington DC/metro Maryland area. We are dedicated to serving the community through ARES and public service support (Repeater:  K4US/R 146.055MHz Input/146.655MHz Output--Use PL tone 141.3 Hz), amateur radio licensing classes, and VEC Amateur Radio License Testing.  Testing Site:  The First Christian Church, 2723 King Street, Alexandria, VA

We will be operating a speical event station on August 1-2nd celebrating the 225th birthday of the United States Coast Guard. Our special event station will be operating both days during the times 8AM to 5PM EDT(1200-2100Z). We will be on 20m phone and 40m phone. Look for us on the other bands also. We will be using the call K4US. We have a very nice Certificate that you can receive if you send us and email with your contact info. The certificate will only be sent to you by email. For the certificate we need your callsign, your date of the contact, the band, the time of the contact, your signal report and your mode of the contact.
